Transportation
Departure: Tues 8:00
am HSV West Gate
(Hwy 7)
Return: Thurs about 5 pm (unless we
decide to stop for dinner)
Lodging:
Ozark Wilderness Lodge: Cost: $40 / person / night (includes
breakfast and dinner)
Food:
Breakfasts/dinners: Included with lodging. (Wed and Thurs
mornings)
Lunch: On your own. Bring your trail lunches for Wed/Thurs).
WILDCAT MOUNTAIN HIKE (in lieu of overnight
to Ozark Highlands)

Carpools:
Hot Springs: 8:30 am Desoto Park/Hwy 7 (Carpool Reimbursement - $5)
Hot Springs Village: 9:00 am Village East Gate/Hwy 5 (Reimbursement -
$4)
Meet at: Hot Springs Village East Gate/Hwy 5: 9:00 am
Bring: Lots of water, insect repellant, good boots and hiking stick(s) and
trail lunch
Should be back by mid-afternoon
Highlights: Wildcat Mountain Trail is a series of loops off Winona
Scenic Drive (FR 132).
It offers of variety of everything from steep climbs, rocky creek crossings,
grassy stretches
with views and old, abandoned logging roads. We may take a spur to
Bobcat Point for a panoramic
view. The trailhead is located approximately 30 miles north of East
Gate via Hwy 5, Hwy 9 and
FR 132.
Saturday: Arkansas River Trail/Big Dam Bridge (4
miles / Easy)

Meet
at: Parking lot nearest the Big Dam Bridge on the south
side of the River
(access by Rebsamen Park Road) 9:30
Bring: Water and snacks
This hike will be over the Big Dam Bridge and back on a paved surface.
We will get to
enjoy the view from atop the bridge and perhaps see some water birds.
After the hike
you may wish to join me for lunch at Shorty Smalls on Rodney Parham or go to
one
of the other restaurants nearby like Guillermos, Chilis, Olive Garden, or the Lonestar
Steakhouse.
